Pork Chops with Mushrooms
This dish is so tasty and easy to make. It’s always a winner.
2 tbsp. butter
8 boneless pork chops, fat removed
1 cup milk
⅔ cup water
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp. parsley flakes
½ tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. beef bouillon powder
6 tbsp. water
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 cup chopped onion
Method: In a large frying pan, melt butter. Brown chops on both sides. Remove to a plate. Add milk and first amount of water to frying pan. Stir to loosen brown bits. Stir flour, parsley, garlic powder and beef bouillon together. Mix in remaining water until no lumps remain. Stir into liquid until it boils and thickens. Continue to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add mushrooms and onion. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Arrange pork chops in a 3 quart buttered casserole, spooning sauce between and over top. Cover and bake for about 1 ½ hours, or until tender.
Makes 8 servings.
